The Mainroad Group, a leader in providing safe and reliable road maintenance, products, and construction services across Western Canada, is seeking a talented and experienced Communications Manager to lead our dynamic communications team.

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Human Resources & Corporate Compliance, this position is based at our head office in Cloverdale.

What you bring:


  • A postsecondary education in Communications, Public Relations, Media Relations, or Marketing, or equivalent experience in related fields.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in Corporate Communication & Marketing.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Strong technical and creative writing abilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, website management tools (WordPress), and analytics software.
  • Extensive experience with social media platforms.
  • A customer serviceoriented mindset with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional time management abilities with a keen eye for detail and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Graphic design experience is a plus
  • Flexibility to travel within British Columbia and Alberta, with a valid Class 5 driver's license.

What you'll do:

As the Communications Manager, you will oversee a diverse range of responsibilities including, but not limited to...

Internal Communications

  • Crafting, editing, and proofreading various written assignments for internal audiences across different platforms and channels.
  • Developing and maintaining internal communications and departmental calendars.
  • Conducting Communications Department orientations and providing social media training and mentoring as needed.
  • Creating strategies for companywide employee communications through our internal resource, "Hub."
External Communications

  • Crafting, editing, and proofreading written assignments for external audiences across multiple platforms.
  • Planning and maintaining external communications and departmental calendars.
  • Acting as a liaison between highway maintenance operations and the province for public communication and response.
  • Advising on and implementing best practices for media relations and public engagement.
  • Supporting Human Resources in recruitmentrelated communication activities, advertising coordination, and event support.
  • Planning and scheduling seasonal highway maintenance and road safety campaigns.
Marketing & Corporate Sponsorship

  • Crafting, editing, and proofreading various marketing and promotional materials, including brochures, scripts for radio, video, and event promotions.
  • Managing Mainroad Group's website(s) and social media content, providing reports as needed.
  • Providing marketing and project management support.
  • Coordinating with graphic design services to develop marketing materials and collateral.
  • Acting as the point of contact for external requests related to corporate sponsorships.
