Assignment:
Full-Time, Hourly Contract (12 months)

Pay Rate:

The Position:


Reporting to the Senior Manager, Research, the Joint Research Ethics Board Secretariat / Research Coordinator will oversee the operations of the Joint Research Ethics Board (JREB) and work closely with the Research Team at Abilities Centre to conduct research and program evaluation.


What You'll Do:

JREB Secretariat

  • Coordinate, Manage, and Organize. You will coordinate and manage the submission of new research studies, annual renewals, and amendments, and will continuously monitor approved research. You will manage and operate the JREB office, which will include arranging monthly board meetings and preparing reviews, approval letters and other communications to the research community. You will coordinate with other Local Institutional Contacts regarding the status of JREB submissions and any requirements. You will organize and maintain the research study database and digital documentation of JREBapproved research studies. You will coordinate and attend quarterly meetings with the JREB Chair, Abilities Centre, Ontario Shores, and Grandview Kids regarding the status of the JREB.
Research Coordinator

  • Culture. You will ensure adherence to professional standards and ethics of research. You will cultivate a personcentred environment through exceptional customer service. You will establish rapport and maintain effective relationships with members, staff, volunteers, and community partners.

  • Communication and Collaboration. You have proven you are effective at communicating and building relationships with the research community (i.e., researchers, research administrators, research coordinators, and clinical researchers), and overall have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Your previous experience in research has proven your ability to contribute to publishable research. You contribute to a work environment that values and encourages teamwork and innovation.
  • Organization and Multi-Tasking. You can manage multiple demands through your welldeveloped organization and time management skills and can work independently without close supervision. You are selfmotivated and resultsoriented, and you demonstrate initiative, problemsolving, adaptability, and accountability.
  • Administrative Requirements. You have a current, clear criminal record check for the vulnerable sector from the last 6 months, which is required.
