Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia is currently searching for a
Communications Coordinator **to join our team in Burnaby for a 4- or 8-month co-op term starting in September 2023.

This role is part of a collaborative and high-impact team doing rewarding and engaging work.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Assist in the ongoing development of a new website, including updating or rewriting content, proofreading existing content, and working with team members on the testing and commissioning of a new user interface.
  • Supports the communications team in promoting Engineers and Geoscientists BC's awards program, including updating website content, authoring articles, drafting social media posts, and creating and executing communication plans to publicize winners.
  • Provides support and assistance for the planning and execution of campaigns and events. This includes updating website content, drafting social media posts, sourcing photography, assisting with creative development, and writing.
  • Assists with social media drafting and scheduling.
  • Provides support to Engineering and Geoscientists BC's webbased career listings.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

The successful applicant will possess the following:

  • High school diploma is required.
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelors degree program in Communications, Public Relations, or Marketing.
  • At least 1 previous coop term is preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with a content management system such as WordPress or Kentico is preferred.
  • Knowledge of HTML is an asset, but not required.
  • Strong writing, reading, and editing skills.

Most roles will be expected to work in-office a minimum of two days per week during regular business operations. We provide the required tools and equipment for employees to work remotely.
