Women in Resource Development Corporation (WRDC) is hiring a Career Development Coordinator to join their growing team in making a difference.

WRDC helps women throughout Newfoundland and Labrador prepare for and achieve meaningful, positive, long-term careers in trades and technology.

Founded in 1997, the organization offers a variety of programs, consultation services, and training services through funding from both the public and private sectors.

The Educational Resource Centre (ERC), our charitable organization created in 2002, provides hands-on learning and career exploration opportunities for younger women and girls in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).


What you will be doing


Reporting to the Director, Career Development, the Career Development Coordinator will serve as first point of contact and link between employees, vendors, stakeholders and clients.

The Career Development Coordinator will be responsible for tracking client information, creating databases for this information and preparing reports.

They will also perform other general office duties to ensure the smooth and efficient running of day-to-day operations in a busy non-profit organization.

A sophisticated level of professionalism, confidentiality and discretion is crucial.

  • Complete initial contacts with women interested in Career Development Services
  • Gather statistical data on incoming inquires.
  • Complete initial intake and assessment for referral purposes
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual reports to the Director, Career Development, by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information in all matters of importance or as requested
  • Data collection, compiling databases and creating spreadsheets using Excel
  • Maintain and digitize company records into appropriate databases and filing systems
  • Strong task and time management skills
  • Assist in the planning, coordination and delivery of organizationwide events
  • Manage business relationships with contractors, suppliers and service providers
  • Anticipate the needs of others to ensure efficiency and productivity of the Organization
  • Contribute to team success by providing assistance as needed, to meet project deliverables
  • Participate in Occupational Health and Safety policies/initiatives
  • Other duties as requested

What you will bring

  • University Degree or College Diploma in a related discipline (such as Business Administration) with a minimum of 2 years of recent experience in an administrative support role.
  • Demonstrated experience in office practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of Accounting practices, bookkeeping and financial reporting is an asset
  • Proficiency with office technology, equipment and software, specifically MS Suite
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety polices, and procedures is an asset
  • Excellent communication skills, a positive attitude and a strong work ethic
  • Exceptional customer service skills and professional phone manner
  • High regard for quality, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, able to prioritize and problemsolve in dynamic situations
  • Highly selfmotivated and independent, able to work with mínimal supervision
  • Certificate of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check is required upon employment and every two years there after
