Refrigeration B Operator - Mississauga, Canada - Arctic Glacier
Description
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the
Refrigeration B Operator is responsible for the general maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all production equipment and training while promoting a safe working environment.
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Coordination of the building systems operation including heating, ventilation, refrigeration, and air-conditioning
- Operating/monitoring of an industrial freon refrigeration system
- Working with outside contractors and/or vendors, including fire department and inspectors
- Perform facility inspections on a regular basis
- Completion of daily refrigeration system readings and daily logbook records
- Perform general building maintenance which includes but not limited to: light carpentry, painting, light plumbing, changing of light bulbs, repair of minor electrical devices
- Responsible for daily refrigeration operator duties including inspections and logs
- Maintain all tools and equipment in clean, safe, working order
- Adhere to all safety requirements and wear the proper Personal Protective Equipment required by the job
- Respond to emergency situations to ensure employee and facility safety
- Is willing to work safely with mínimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to their supervisor.
- Understands that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues and is willing to speak out when hazards are present

- Must possess and maintain a minimum of Refrigeration Operator "B" Certification.
- Minimum 2 years of mechanical experiences in a Manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry.
- Must be comfortable working with power tools.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
- Comfortable working independently as well as in a team setting.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends.
