Job Summary

  • The Registrar's Office (RO) is a large, multiunit, multisite operation involved in the entire academic experience of Dalhousie students, from recruitment and admissions through to convocation and beyond. Under the direction of the Associate Director, Enrolment Service Operations, the Coordinator is responsible for the management of the daily operations of the Enrolment Service Centre (ESC) locations in Halifax that combine the functions of the Registrar's Office, Student Accounts, the Bookstore and the DalCard Office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the daily management and coordination of the Sexton and Studley Enrolment Services Centres for the Registrar's Office.
  • Manage and create a highly effective customer service culture focused on meeting time sensitive deadlines and creating a positive experience for prospective and current students, parents, guidance counselors, faculty and staff.
  • Create an environment that fosters high level customer service in all transactions, and implement tools necessary to measure service levels and set standards, as applicable.
  • Ensure service excellence in our partnerships with operations for Student Accounts, DalCard, UPass, Bookstore and Registrar functions.
  • Oversee all ESC staff including hiring, training and management for a mix of bargaining unit, student, temporary and casual employees.
  • Manage the technology and create a stable functioning environment to not negatively impact service.

Note
Due to operational requirements, the successful applicant is required to work in-person on campus.

Required Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree plus three to five years' relevant experience (or equivalent combination of training and experience).
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programs.
  • Experience in Student Information systems
  • Experience developing business processes, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and function at a high level with mínimal direct supervision
  • A high degree of interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Proven ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Proven excellence in staff supervision and management.
