Equipment Operator (Production Operator)

Job summary:


In a 100% automated environment, the operator will have to support daily operations by resolving system faults, both technical and operational.


Role of the automated equipment operator:

  • Clear machine faults in a timely and efficient manner using logic
  • Respect established procedures and policies
  • Adhere to established fault escalation procedures
  • Keep and ensure work area is clean, organized and free from debris
  • Return all products/cases outside of automation to designated areas
  • Help optimize production operations
  • Look for areas of improvement
  • Provide feedback of system performance at hand over meetings
  • Complete the various checklists provided
  • Work closely with the maintenance team to ensure that the machines remain in excellent condition and notify them of any anomalies
  • Some tasks must be performed at height and require the use of a safety harness
  • Adherence of 5S principals

NOTE:

Qualifications:


  • No specific technical education required but preferred
  • Minimum High School Diploma with a noted preference for a postsecondary trade certificate notably in automation or maintenance/ mechanical/ electrical/ electronics related fields

Knowledge/Experience Required:


  • Technically and mechanically inclined
  • Practical attitude and ability to learn new tasks, concepts and procedures
  • PC skills in a _windows_ environment
  • Must be able to work occasionally at heights exceeding 20 meters (after having been trained and with a security harness)
  • Must be able to work on a day shift, evening shift or night shift and weekends (Schedule is assigned and then it becomes permanent with no rotation)
  • Training in entry level electromechanics an asset
  • Comfortable working while standing for long periods
  • Critical thinking and problem solving
