passionate about? We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Machinist to join our growing business at our Stratford, ON facility
The Position
We are looking for a
Machinist who will be responsible to set up, operate and monitor various machinery.
The incumbent checks parts for correct size, dimensions and other specifications, and may select and transport material to work area using overhead crane or tow motor.
The machine operator will also be required to perform tasks such as beveling and deburring while the table is operating.
The incumbent will use a variety of measuring equipment to ensure tolerances are maintained.Work must be carried out safely, in a timely manner, using appropriate tools, meeting production standards and required Quality Assurance specifications.
Specific Responsibilities
- You will operate a vertical turning lathe, horizontal boring mill and CNC Machines
- You will set up and machine weldments to drawing specifications
- You will select appropriate toolings for job requirements.
- You will perform preventative and predictive maintenance on facility machinery
- You will complete daily maintenance logs
- You will communicate and assist coworkers, operators, supervisors, and leadhands when required.
- You will ensure compliance with all Occupational Health & safety Regulations and Organizational Health & Safety Policies and Procedures.
- You will follow all lockout procedures when doing repairs, and adjustments.
- You will complete ITP paperwork.
Your Skills Set
- Grade twelve education or equivalent, with basic reading, writing, and some advanced mathematic skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- You have at least 23 years of experience operating a vertical turning lathe and horizontal boring mill
- You have an advanced skill & experience required on one or more of the following machines/tools: lathe, mill, horizontal boring mill, vertical / drill press, horizontal cut off saw and Fanuc and Siemens
- You have excellent problem solving skills.
- You have knowledge of cranes, forklift trucks, and various lifting devices and equipment.
- CNC experience

$23.00-$26.00 per hour
