Do you have extensive horse care experience? Are you comfortable handling horses in many different situations? Do you have experience in the field as a veterinary technician or veterinary assistant? We are looking for a dynamic, flexible individual that is comfortable and competent around horses.
Our clinic is located on a beautiful 50 acre horse farm between Heathcote and Clarksburg in the Blue Mountains, Ontario.
Our equine clinic has an exam area with stocks for procedures, 2 large stalls equipped for intensive care and monitoring and our office and pharmacy area.
The clinic makes it safe and easy to examine and treat both routine and complicated cases.Some procedures are much better suited to the well-lit, heated facility We routinely provide:
- Breeding services, frozen and fresh AI
- Standing surgeries and more complicated dental procedures
- Colics and sick horses requiring IV fluids and medications
- Procedures such as shockwave, PRP injections, joint injections, radiographs, etc.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Communicate in a compassionate and professional manner with clients and fellow veterinary care team members using efficient oral and written communication skills.
- Utilize appropriate equipment and techniques, including but not limited to assisting with Xray, and ultrasound equipment, assisting in various examinations, basic laboratory sample preparation.
- A valid Ontario Drive's licence
- Comfortable with working out of doors in every type of weather, in a different location daily.
- Physically capable of lifting heavy objects, walking and running short distances and restraining strong horses.
- Assist Veterinarian with minor surgical and therapeutic procedures. Utilize patient care techniques that comply with all aseptic standards and protocols.
- Assist in billing and maintaining veterinary medical records.
- Operate and maintain clinic medical equipment.
- Manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fastpaced environment.
- Maintain an appropriate inventory of all medical supplies.
- Maintain and support a collaborative work environment and assist other staff members as required.

Pay:
From $19.00 per hour

No more than 44 per week
