Additionally, our SHRB spearheads organizational transformation and develops and implements strategic initiatives as they relate to leadership development, talent and succession management, organizational health and wellness, diversity and inclusion, and employee engagement and recognition.

What can I expect to do in this role?: Currently, our team has a need to recruit HR Business Advisors in the following 3 streams of HR:

Mental Health and Wellness (1 temporary) - Committed to fostering a diverse and equitable healthy workplace by developing, supporting, and implementing initiatives that prioritize employee mental health and wellness


Responsibilities include:

  • Developing, coordinating, facilitating and/or procuring webinars and presentations on a variety of mental health and wellness topics
  • Strategizing and launching tangible and practical health and wellness tools, strategies and supports for employees.
  • Supporting continued leadership development on facilitating a psychologically safe workplace.
  • Participating in the development of communication strategies to inform and educate employees on mental health and wellness issues.

HR Initiatives and Programs (1 temporary) - Focus is on developing strategic products that move the bar on various ministry and corporate initiatives


Responsibilities include:

  • Contributing to innovative solutions on complex and multifaceted HR issues.
  • Developing strategic products that move the bar on various ministry and corporate HR initiatives.
  • Providing advice to executives in the development of divisional strategic HR plans, and/or program design/redesign initiatives.
  • Developing, piloting, and implementing initiatives related to talent management and succession planning, leveraging the OPS' talent management system.

HR Reporting and Metrics (1 permanent) - Provide clients and senior executives with workforce data, information, and insights to make evidence-based decisions


Responsibilities include:

  • Utilizing HR information systems (e.g., WIN, COGNOS) and other tools to collect accurate and uptodate information.
  • Analyzing workforce trends and business and labour relations impacts of changes on the OPS workforce.
  • Using qualitative and quantitative data to monitor and evaluate outcomes of HR initiatives to proactively provide HR advice.
  • Tracking progress through canvassing responses and analyzing data from employee engagement surveys.
