Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Casino Audit Clerk is responsible for the verification, auditing, reconciliation and analysis of all casino and gaming centre (referred to collectively as Casino) gaming and non-gaming revenue.


Duties:


  • Perform daily audits to verify the correctness of Casino gaming revenue and other statistical gaming information such as coin in and games played, as well as the Casino gaming departments' compliance with prescribed policies and procedures.
  • Verify changes made to the Casino gaming systems by the departments and/or the Finance department.
  • Investigate audit variances and discrepancies and, as necessary, request changes to the Casino cash management system or the Casino gaming systems.
  • Promptly forward to Security and the appropriate department managers any variance, discrepancy or policy and procedural violation that requires corrective action and follow up, and document the results in the audit working papers.
  • Compile complete and accurate Casino gaming audit working papers and forward to the Accounting Technician for review and approval.
  • Maintain uptodate and accurate electronic tracking sheets of variances discovered in the course of the Casino gaming revenue audits.
  • Verify, sort and audit slot vouchers.
  • Archive vouchers and other accounting documents.
  • As necessary, assist in drafting or updating the Casino gaming revenue audit procedures.
  • Perform daily verification of nongaming revenue sources such as gift store, valet and hospitality & entertainment services to ensure that all transactions are completely and correctly accounted for and properly documented and that prescribed policies and procedures are strictly complied with.
  • On a daily basis, check compliance with policies and procedures, review and verify proper account distribution, verify to Casino cash management system and maintain uptodate tracking spreadsheets for a variety of items such as vault adjustments, tour coupons redemptions, discrepancy reports, credit notes and gift cards.
  • Perform daily reconciliation of ticket redemption terminals.
  • Investigate and follow up on all variances and discrepancies noted.

Primary Qualifications:


  • Completion of a Grade XII High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Current enrollment in a recognized accounting program such as an Accounting or Business Administration diploma or certificate (preference given to the Advanced Certificate in Accounting and Finance). An equivalent combination of education and job related experience will be considered.
  • A minimum of one year experience in an accounting, auditing or related field, and experience in a computerized accounting or gaming environment.
  • Advanced data entry skills and intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Demonstrated understanding of accounting principles, policies and procedures in a casino gaming environment is considered an asset.
