The Radiation Treatment Program (RTP) aims to improve the quality and accessibility of radiotherapy for the treatment of cancer across Ontario.

The RTP is dedicated to ensuring timely and coordinated treatment that is safe, evidence-based, and technologically innovative.

The RTP continuously collaborates with various stakeholders across the province to provide high quality care to individuals with cancer in Ontario.


The RTP strives to:

  • Identify areas for quality and access improvement strategies/initiatives
  • Develop evidencebased and consensusdriven guidelines and standards
  • Initiate and implement knowledge transfer strategies/initiatives
  • Create and support strategic funding initiatives to support quality and accessibility improvement strategies
  • Measure and provide feedback on performance indicators

Here is what you will be doing:

  • Leads the building of clinical requirements for the radiation image repository, as well as liaising with various provincial stakeholders, including physicists, radiation therapists and radiation oncologists
  • Directly connects and works with the Digital Excellence in Health team to support the creation of a core platform for radiation images
  • Works with the Group Manager to define objectives and standards, prioritize key activities, and deliverables
  • Works with the Group Manager to determine and develop the required frameworks, processes, and tools
  • Leads and project manages provincial standardization of nomenclature for file naming conventions
  • Leads, facilitates, and oversees the development of memorandums of understanding (MOUs) between all cancer centres for image and health human resource sharing for emergency preparedness purposes
  • Manages stakeholder communication and change management for the implementation of the radiation image repository
  • Oversees Radiation Funding (RT QBP) Clinical Operations including:
  • The maintenance, the creation/streamlining for treatment protocols/clinical trials and related inquiries and communications
  • Leading the RT QBP development and evaluation roll out
Here is what you will need to be successful:
Education and Experience- A Master's degree in health policy, health sciences, health administration, or a related field of study- 6-8 years of overall work experience in a similar capacity is required- Familiarization with Radiation-specific activities and/or DICOM/DICOM RT knowledge preferred- Demonstrated successful project management and change management experience- Work experience and understanding of Ontario's radiation treatment programs and processes are preferred- Experience facilitating Communities of Practice/equivalent and engagement with clinicians preferred- Experience in engaging and soliciting support from business partners within OH-CCO in the delivery of operational activities

Knowledge and Skills- Excellent communication skills including the ability to prepare briefing notes, reports, policy documents & deliver effective presentations- Strong relationship building skills, with demonstrated experience engaging and building consensus amongst diverse stakeholders- Experience managing multiple, complex projects including allocating resources, negotiating timelines, and synthesizing activities and findings to meet business needs- Experience or familiarity with common healthcare key performance, quality, funding indicators, and metrics are an asset- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a self-directed manner with mínimal supervision- Ability to work well under pressure and use good judgment in assessing difficult situations- Comfortable working in a dynamic fast-paced environment with a degree of uncertainty or ambiguity- Detail oriented with excellent organization and time management skills- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills; ability to develop options, recommendations, and assess risks- Team player who values collaboration- Excellent organization and time management skills- Strong business acumen- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with demonstrated experience engaging and building relationships and consensus among diverse stakeholders- Proven ability to establish positive working relationships; must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude, and work well with a broad network of teams, individuals, and stakeholders- A novel thinker who enjoys generating and exploring innovative ideas and solutions- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy- Demonstrated initiative and independence to take appropriate action and anticipate organizational needs- Ability to seek and weigh opinions and evidence, compromising where necessary on ways and means but not on principles or goals- Ability to deal effectively with colleagues, stakeholders, and the public from different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience- Capacity to work effectively in a rapid-pace work environment- Ability to
