Job Summary & Key Responsibilities

WORK ASSIGNMENT:
The part-time academic will be responsible for teaching
:SLWK 2010 Sec 51, "Introduction to Community Social Work"
. The course will be offered in the Fall Term, **from September-December 2024. For a full course description, please refer to the Dalhousie Academic Calendar.

Note:
this is an online course and part of the BSW program.

The part-time academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the course, including preparing and delivering lectures and preparation and grading of assignments.

Distance courses are taught using an online learning management system (LMS) known as Brightspace. Distance courses require on-line availability for consultation with students. In addition, the part-time academic should expect to be engaged in course preparations for one-two months preceding course delivery.

Qualifications/Requirements of Position

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Extensive experience in social work (or related fields), as well as a demonstrated knowledge of community social work, is required.

A Master of Social Work degree, or higher, and previous teaching experience, preferably with on-line teaching.
