The Role
As a Barista, you will:
- Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including coffee, tea, specialty drinks and baked goods. Ensure all beverages and food items are prepared to the highest standards of quality.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service and create a welcoming atmosphere by greeting guests, families and staff with a warm and friendly demeanour. Respond to customer inquiries and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
- Take Orders: Take and fulfill beverage orders promptly and accurately.
- Maintain Cleanliness: Ensure the work station and surrounding areas are clean and follow health and safety guidelines. Ensure all utensils and equipment are sanitized regularly.
- Cash Handling: Handle cash transactions accurately, provide change, and use the pointofsale system efficiently.
- Collaboration: connect and engage in collaborative partnerships with fellow educators, colleagues, leaders, families, and the greater community.
The Qualifications
As a Barista, you have:
- A clear Criminal Record Check
- Canadian citizenship and/or legally permitted to work in Canada
- Previous experience as a barista
- Strong communication skills in English
- Proficiency in a second language as an asset
- Excellent time management skills and has the ability to prioritize and multitask.
- Good interpersonal skills. Have a passion for building and maintaining relationships with students, families, and colleagues
- A growth mindset, recognizing opportunities for learning and growth daily
- Ability to thrive in a creation, growthstage environment
Commitment
- 25 hours per week
- Hours will be from 6:30am to 10:30am
- Estimated start of position in winter 202
- Permanent
