The Role

As a Barista, you will:

  • Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including coffee, tea, specialty drinks and baked goods. Ensure all beverages and food items are prepared to the highest standards of quality.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service and create a welcoming atmosphere by greeting guests, families and staff with a warm and friendly demeanour. Respond to customer inquiries and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Take Orders: Take and fulfill beverage orders promptly and accurately.
  • Maintain Cleanliness: Ensure the work station and surrounding areas are clean and follow health and safety guidelines. Ensure all utensils and equipment are sanitized regularly.
  • Cash Handling: Handle cash transactions accurately, provide change, and use the pointofsale system efficiently.
  • Collaboration: connect and engage in collaborative partnerships with fellow educators, colleagues, leaders, families, and the greater community.

The Qualifications

As a Barista, you have:

  • A clear Criminal Record Check
  • Canadian citizenship and/or legally permitted to work in Canada
  • Previous experience as a barista
  • Strong communication skills in English
  • Proficiency in a second language as an asset
  • Excellent time management skills and has the ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Good interpersonal skills. Have a passion for building and maintaining relationships with students, families, and colleagues
  • A growth mindset, recognizing opportunities for learning and growth daily
  • Ability to thrive in a creation, growthstage environment

Commitment

  • 25 hours per week
  • Hours will be from 6:30am to 10:30am
  • Estimated start of position in winter 202
  • Permanent
