You will be a key member of a dynamic and innovative group of patent agents, clerks and legal support staff, providing the highest level of service to our clients, while having the opportunity to cultivate your skills as part of our successful national Intellectual Property Patent team, within Canada's premier full-service law firm.

  • The key responsibilities of this role are:
  • Monitor the due list for all patent deadlines and send appropriate reminders
  • Review, check, docket and report official correspondence from the Canadian Intellectual Property Office
  • Attend to, review, and report various stages of patent prosecution
  • Keep uptodate on changes in patent law including internal procedural requirements
  • What you will bring to this role:
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant patent experience with advanced knowledge in Canadian prosecution from a law firm and/or in-house experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe, Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Strong organizational skills in planning and prioritizing work, multitasking and attention to details
  • Ability to succeed in a multidisciplinary team and to work independently with mínimal supervision
  • Adaptability to ever changing priorities and deadlines
