    Position Overview:


This contract position to cover a maternity leave for our Client Billing Supervisor offers an incredible chance to showcase your leadership skills, strengthen cross-functional relationships, and contribute significantly to our organization's success.


The Client Billing Supervisor is responsible for supporting day to day functions in the accounting cycle, including month end tasks, AR reporting, and maintaining and updating key controls.

In this role, the Supervisor, Client Billing creates strong relationships with other departments and senior leadership.


Responsibilities:


LEADERSHIP, SUPPORT, PROBLEM-SOLVING:

  • Provides supervision of the Client Billing team
  • Ensures quality assurance of the team's productivity and performance
  • Identifies and implements performance indicators
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with other managers, supervisors
  • Serves as a first line of defense in addressing daytoday questions/concerns and acting as a backup to Divisional Controller
  • Provides training/coaching of junior team members and serving as a role model through all interactions
  • Leads by example in ensuring all employee compliance requirements are completed on time (PDPs, policy checks, security clearance, etc.)
  • Promotes a strong team culture through proactively leading team meetings, discussing open issues, and working with the Divisional Controller in implementing process improvements
  • Ensures timely period end closing and reporting
  • Engages with internal and external stakeholders, as needed, to drive solution to issues and escalating to Divisional Controller, as required
  • Attends service line meetings regularly to keep updated on ongoing contracts, new contracts, and changes to the business
  • Works with Divisional Controller on identification of opportunities to improve operations, contribution toward solutions, and supporting implementation
  • Helps review Accounts Receivable Aging and working with the Client Billing Administrators and business to improve collections through targeted customers
  • Takes a leadership role in coordinating audit support and performing system testing
  • Conducts regular oneonone and team meetings

REPORTING & CONTROLS:

  • Owns the Accounts Receivable Aging Reporting process including preparation of monthly Accounts Receivable Aging report distributed to the management team
  • Prepares adhoc Accounts Receivable Aging reports for specific customer accounts to drive collections
  • Prepares other adhoc reporting for proposals, audit purposes, internal requests, etc.
  • Maintains key controls over invoice cancellations, bill rate changes, sales order changes, project changes, and integrity of customer master data
  • Works to develop new controls as needed to address emerging risks

Qualifications:


  • Post secondary education in Accounting or in a related field, preferred
  • Experience in a supervisory role with multiple direct reports, preferably in a customer service environment
  • Experience training new hires, providing mentorship, coaching and empowerment to employees
  • Excellent grasp of the accounting cycle, revenue recognition principles and monthend cutoff procedures
  • Experience explaining financial concepts and rules to others without financial background
  • Experience translating the results of a problem analysis into process improvement solutions
  • Knowledge of SAP (Finance, Project Systems, Material Management, Sales, and Distribution), preferred
