  • What You'll Be Doing:

  • Assist with New Hire Orientations
  • Conduct Regular Site Visits
  • Coach and Mentor in the assessment of daily and changing work processes to identify hazards, assess risk, and determine appropriate controls.
  • Coach/Mentor employees on how to use Risk Assessment tools
  • Assist with the development and implementation of training and competency initiatives.
  • Assist with the development and update of Safe Operating Procedures
  • Assist with Contractor Management Program
  • Assist with Development and implementation of emergency response plans. Assist with conducting Emergency Drills
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with company & legislative standards.
  • Assist with Incident Investigations
  • Actively create and share safety communications.
  • Assist with facilitating and/or attending monthly/daily Safety Meetings
  • Perform inspections/audits.
  • Facilitate company training programs.
  • Perform Hearing Protection Fit Testing
  • Potential travel to the US
  • Assist with Joint Health and Safety Committee
  • Oversee the inspection, maintenance and calibration of safety equipment and personal protective gear.
  • Report on trends and areas for improvement
  • Familiarization with Rail Operations and Chemical Handling
  • Other duties as required.
  • Who We're Looking For:

  • OHS Certification/Diploma (required or working towards)
  • 3-5 years in a full time HSE role.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and best practices
  • Auditing experience (preferred)
  • Proven experience building relationships and influencing others.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
  • Attainment of valid safety tickets (First Aid, H2S, CSO) is required.
  • Excellent computer skills: Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.)
  • A valid Class 5 Driver's License is required with a clean driving record.
  • Candidate must reside in or near the Grande Prairie area.
