Description:
The Intermediate Financial Analyst plays a crucial role in planning, conducting, and reporting on compliance and assurance reviews for the Client in Edmonton, Alberta. They are responsible for examining, evaluating, and reporting on aspects of risk management, internal controls, and operational governance. Additionally, they provide financial expertise, analysis, and reports on their findings.

The responsibilities of the analyst include:

Conducting Accounting Officer (AO) type compliance reviews with appropriate financial analysis and strategies for remediation of errors and irregularities
Completing sensitive and special financial reviews such as employee theft and personal use of P-Cards

Moreover, the Financial Analyst serves as a resource offering financial information and advice to stakeholders and program areas within the Client, supporting financial processes and analysis. They assist stakeholders in decision-making through financial analysis and business advice.

The role requires the ability to continuously learn, apply gained knowledge, and adapt to the evolving environment. The Analyst will navigate a variety of integrated management and financial information systems within the Ministry, managing upgrades and new system introductions.
