    Telesat is seeking a Senior System Engineering Specialist to join their dynamic team. Reporting to the Director, Systems Solutions, this role will involve advanced performance assessment studies to meet complex customer needs within the Lightspeed program. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in satellite communications and large networks to define detailed solutions for implementation across the Lightspeed system.

    Role Responsibilities:

    • Develop innovative solutions using Telesat Lightspeed system to address commercial needs and opportunities.
    • Provide comprehensive technical solutions using simulation tools.
    • Collaborate with various teams for system engineering and performance evaluations.
    • Define high-level requirements and develop operational concepts.
    • Manage feature development roadmap and support system performance studies.
    • Create technical documentation, reports, and deliver presentations.

    Education and Experience:

    • B. Sc. in Electrical, Computer, or System Engineering with at least 15 years of experience in satellite communications or large communication systems.
    • Strong background in system design and communication systems performance assessments.
    • Knowledge of communication system architectures and radio communication systems.

    Specialized Skills and Abilities:

    • Detail-oriented problem solver with a creative mindset.
    • Experience with orbital analyses tools like STK.
    • Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills.
    • Passion for technology and fluency in English.
