$22.82 / hr


Shift:12-Hour Rotating Continental Shifts


Reporting to the Department Supervisor, the
Laminator Operator Assistant is responsible for assisting operator in supplying customer with high-resolution graphics and material that consistently meets expectations through efficient operation of equipment.

All employees are mandated to create a zero-injury environment and engage actively in all areas of SPS.


What you'll be doing:


  • Wash parts and maintain wash up area
  • Properly label all containers for storage
  • Perform splices
  • Read and understand dockets and specs
  • Perform maintenance housekeeping
  • Test raw materials as needed
  • Stage materials for current/upcoming job (i.e. cores, glue and catalyst).
  • Properly maintain housekeeping duties (i.e. blowing machine out, sweeping, mopping floor)
  • Make sure rolls and cores are lined up properly and put material/poly on unwinder
  • Change rolls on both unwinds and rewind and prepare for transportation
  • Maintain washup area
  • Assist Operator with all make ready procedures such as changing cylinders, cleaning arm holder and floor, chromac, web up press, and change tape position
  • Chromac and clean parts like splashguards, cylinders, pumps, blades, cylinder pan, toppers, drain hose, and stir sticks
  • Weigh and mix adhesive batches and keep records
  • Operate roll manipulator
  • Attend training seminars as required
  • Backup Operator when needed

  • Understanding of basic printing technologies
  • Basic mounting skills
  • Aptitude for basic math
  • Visual acuity and colour perception necessary to distinguish colour shades
  • Good communication skills
  • Problem Solving and trouble shooting skills
  • Able to perform physical requirements of the job
  • Available to work 12hour rotating continental shifts (2 weeks working days, then 2 weeks working nights)
  • Are 18 years of age or older
  • Have Grade 12 education or equivalent
