    Description

    Position: Vice President of Finance

    Location: Toronto, Ontario

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead the financial strategy, planning, and operations of the real estate company, overseeing all financial functions and initiatives.
    • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and optimize financial performance.
    • Manage financial planning and analysis processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, to support strategic decision-making and business growth.
    • Provide strategic financial guidance and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders to drive profitability and maximize shareholder value.
    • Oversee financial reporting and analysis, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and adherence to accounting standards.
    • Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including investors, lenders, auditors, and regulatory authorities, to ensure compliance and transparency in financial reporting and disclosures.
    • Evaluate investment opportunities, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships, conducting financial due diligence and analysis to assess risks and opportunities.
    • Lead treasury management activities, including cash flow forecasting, working capital management, and risk mitigation strategies.
    • Develop and mentor finance team members, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
    • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes impacting the real estate sector, providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership

      Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
    • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles within the real estate industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership position.
    • Strong financial acumen and analytical skills, with a proven track record of developing and implementing financial strategies to drive business growth and profitability.
    • In-depth knowledge of real estate finance, investment analysis, and asset management principles and practices.
    • Experience in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
    • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams to achieve organizational objectives.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with a proactive and results-oriented approach to financial management.
    • Proficiency in financial management software and systems, including ERP systems, financial modeling tools, and Microsoft Excel.
    • Familiarity with regulatory requirements, accounting standards, and tax implications relevant to the real estate industry.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage competing priorities effectively.
