- Diagnose problems and dismantle electric motors, transformers, switchgear, electric welders, generators and other electrical and mechanical equipment for servicing, modification and repair.
- Remove and replace shafts, bearings, commutators and other components, referring to blueprints or service manual as required.
- Wind and assemble various types of coils for electric motors of transformers and reinstall them.
- Balance armatures or rotors, weld and braze or solder electrical connections, and align and adjust parts close to tolerances to reassemble items
- Knowledge and ability to enforce compliance with safety rules and regulations; to minimize industrial injuries and meet regulatory requirements.
- Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.

SMS Equipment is GROWING We are looking for Journeyperson Electric Motor System Technician to join our Reman team located in Acheson AB. SMS Equipment has a unique specialization in the electrical rewind business for highway and mining equipment. In this role, the incumbent will maintain, modify and repair AC and DC electric motors for some of the largest mobile equipment. This position is based in Acheson, AB.
The shift rotation for this position is 7x7.
The hourly rate for this position is $49.92 per hour plus applicable premiums.

The successful candidate will have a Journeyperson Electrical Motor Systems Technician trade's ticket for Alberta.
