Red Oak Villa is currently seeking a part-time Dietary Aide / Back-up Cook to join its food services team.

Food Services is committed to providing a clean, safe and upscale dining environment where our residents, tenants, family, friends, volunteers and employees can enjoy "Leisure for Life".

Food Services works to achieve the following:_

To offer attractive and nutritious meals and snacks based on current nutritional standards and resident feedback.
To provide specialized diets and/or nutritional supplements in accordance with individual medical, spiritual and personal needs.
To make every meal service experience an enjoyable one.
To identify safety hazards within the physical environment and immediately report these to the JHSC.
To adhere to all safety measures, The Sanitation Code for Canada's food service industry and other precautions for the protection and comfort of the residents, family members, friends, employees and volunteers.

Qualifications:

Previous and relevant Cook experience required. Experience in a Retirement Home is considered an asset.
Familiarity with HACCP, WHMIS, Occupational Health and Safety and Sanitation Code.
Excellent understanding of kitchen cookware and appliances.
Excellent teamwork and effective communication skills.
Strong organizational and timemanagement skills.
Capable of working efficiently in a fastpaced environment.
Ability to work well under pressure.
High interpersonal and customer service skills.
Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50lbs, stand for long periods of time and walk short distances throughout the day; ability to tolerate heat in kitchen area.
Free from communicable diseases.
Food Handlers Certificate and Smart Serve Certificate required.
Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening is required.
TB testing required.
N95 Mask Fit Certification dated to within 2 years.
Proof of full Covid19 vaccination is required prior to start.

Shifts worked as a back-up cook will be paid an additional $2.00 per hour on their base wage.
