Reporting to the Senior Engineer, Applied Research and Development (Applied R&D), the Technician, Applied R&D is responsible for supporting the safe execution of water quality management R&D projects on and around active mine sites.

Responsibilities:

Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
Support the execution of projects, mainly from the fieldtesting phase, through transfer to operations
Supervise and coordinate contractors, ensuring that work is being conducted safely and in accordance with project scope
Collect water and/or solid samples and follow chain of custody protocols
Perform checks, maintain, and manage field and laboratory equipment
Collect, upload, analyze and manage data
Develop and maintain documentation for the Applied R&D team

Qualifications:

Engineering or Science Diploma or Degree in civil, chemical, geological, mining, environmental or related field
Minimum two years of relevant industry experience; proven experience in the field in an industrial environment would be an asset
