Reporting to the Senior Engineer, Applied Research and Development (Applied R&D), the Technician, Applied R&D is responsible for supporting the safe execution of water quality management R&D projects on and around active mine sites.
Responsibilities:
- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
- Support the execution of projects, mainly from the fieldtesting phase, through transfer to operations
- Supervise and coordinate contractors, ensuring that work is being conducted safely and in accordance with project scope
- Collect water and/or solid samples and follow chain of custody protocols
- Perform checks, maintain, and manage field and laboratory equipment
- Collect, upload, analyze and manage data
- Develop and maintain documentation for the Applied R&D team
Qualifications:
- Engineering or Science Diploma or Degree in civil, chemical, geological, mining, environmental or related field
- Minimum two years of relevant industry experience; proven experience in the field in an industrial environment would be an asset
