    Accountability
  • The Senior Project Manager will manage OOI companywide projects, working closely with staff from all groups and departments, as they work towards operational readiness.
  • As a seasoned project manager, you will lead various OOI company-wide projects, support development of project management standards and initiatives for OOI, and support OOI on various other activities needed to reach operational readiness.
  • Work closely with the Project Controls and Scheduling teams to track project progress and provide updates to the Master Schedule for the projects they are managing.
  • Responsibility
  • Manage a diverse group of projects needed to reach operational readiness, with an emphasis on projects that impact the entire organization.
  • Track and report on progress by using detailed workplans and schedules.
  • Develop and maintain detailed workplans and schedules, including task sequencing, resource allocation, and critical path analysis.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders, such as team members, clients, and vendors, to gather requirements and establish project timelines.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely completion of project deliverables.
  • Monitor project progress and identify potential delays or conflicts, proactively taking corrective actions as needed.
  • Assist with the preparation of mitigation plans to mitigate risks and resolve conflicts that may impact project schedules.
  • Organize and chair meetings with workstreams and working groups.
  • Conduct regular status meetings to update stakeholders on project timelines, milestones, and any schedule-related issues.
  • Assist in scope change requests for the total cost and schedule impact.
  • Support the production of the monthly project reports, including variance analysis and reporting on project status and forecast reporting for management and client requirements.
  • Provide oversight and coaching to other project managers within the organization.
  • Other duties, as required, to support the operation and maintenance workstreams.
  • Education & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or other relevant discipline.
  • Certifications or Designations
  • PMP or PMI-SP certification a plus.
  • Experience
  • 10 years of experience, preferably working within the rail industry, including leadership, team building, report writing, communication, and conflict resolution experience.
  • Competencies
  • Familiarity working with Project Agreements and understanding requirements.
  • Ability to manage a diverse range of projects related to the start-up of an operations and maintenance company.
  • Strong project management skills, with a focus on scheduling and timeline management.
  • Proficiency in using project management software and tools, such as Microsoft Project, Primavera, or similar applications.
  • Attention to detail and ability to identify dependencies and potential scheduling conflicts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address schedule-related challenges.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies, such as Agile or Waterfall, depending on the organization's approach.
  • Leadership qualities and the ability to motivate and guide project teams.
  • Strong communication skills – oral and written.
  • Self-motivated with good organizational skills.
  • Adaptable to flexible work schedule when required to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and able to work with senior members of the organization.
  • Able to identify and expedite outstanding key issues and risks.
  • Contribute to training and development of project staff.
