- Prepare vehicles for delivery
- Verify that all products are securely loaded and protected from the elements and that all accompanying paperwork is available
- Operate vehicles to transport material to private homes and construction sites
- Park vehicles in designated area(s) and obtain necessary signatures from the receiver once unloaded
- Operate two-way radios and cell phones to receive instructions and provide status updates
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance on tractor-trailers, including documenting daily inspections and ensuring safety equipment, straps, and paperwork are in place
- Perform other job-related duties as required
- Valid "DZ" level driver's licence
- Familiarity with basic house building construction in order to give direction to loaders on sequencing of loads
- Good communication skills and ability to understand customer requirements
- Familiarity with wood grading standards and ability to identify products
- Good knowledge of the layout of city roadways, awareness of road restrictions, and ability to source alternative routes
