    Summary

Part-time Support Staff employees, as defined by the part-time Support Staff Collective Agreement, will be given first consideration


Duties:

Under the supervision of the Manager, Lab and Downtown Campus Operations, the incumbent is responsible for receiving, storing and distributing all food, beverage and sundry products, ensuring food safety and quality for the School of Tourism, Hospitality and Culinary Arts internal customers.

Additional duties include supporting the Lab Facilitator with inventory management, cost controls and the cleaning of equipment and storage areas.


Responsibilities:

Checks deliveries for accuracy, quality and quantity, using strong product knowledge and recognition. Facilitate the proper rotation of materials maintaining a first in first out process.

Prepares materials as requisitioned including lead time for preparation to meet timelines for student lab volumes and distribution, as well as methods of storage and transport.

Strong mathematical skills and experience with conversion of metric and imperial measures to insure accuracy is required. Conduct inventories to assist with purchase volumes as established through requisitions and established vendors. Daily, weekly and annual cleaning as needed to maintain food safety and quality.
Qualifications

  • Postsecondary 2year diploma in Culinary or Hospitality Management preferred
  • Minimum 5 years' recent and relevant experience
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered; preference will be given to applicants meeting the education requirements
  • Red Seal, Trade of Cook required
  • Strong product knowledge and recognition
  • Strong mathematical skills and experience with conversion of metric and imperial measures
  • Experience with inventory management, food costing and point of sale software
  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
