Job description
We are a tech engineering firm specializing in the predictive durability of polymeric and composite materials.We are seeking a highly skilled Finite Element Analysis (FEA) Engineer to help us translate our proprietary models into commercial FE software such as Ansys or Abaqus.
The primary goal of this role is twofold: developing technical documentation/content and writing the numerical scripts required for marketplace integration (Abaqus & Ansys).
Key Responsibilities:
- Subroutine Development: Write and validate userdefined material subroutines (UMAT/VUMAT) in Abaqus and USERMAT in Ansys.
- APDL Scripting: Develop robust Ansys APDL scripts to automate multi physics aging simulations (Thermal-Mechanical
- Chemical coupling).
- Marketplace Integration: Prepare code packages, example problems, and validation cases for submission to the Ansys and Abaqus marketplaces.
- Content Development: Assist in writing highlevel technical whitepapers and documentation that explain the transition from theoretical constitutive equations to FEA implementation.
Required Qualifications:
- PhD or Master's in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or Computational Mechanics.
- Expertlevel proficiency in Fortran and Python for FEA subroutines.
- Extensive experience with Abaqus/Standard and Ansys Mechanical.
- Strong background in nonlinear constitutive modeling (hyperelasticity, viscoelasticity, and damage mechanics).
- Familiarity with multiphysics coupling (e.g., moisture/oxygen diffusion coupled with mechanical loading).
Preferred Experience:
Prior experience publishing tools on the Ansys Store or Dassault Systèmes marketplace.
Knowledge of Physics-Informed Neural Networks (PINNs) or AI-integrated FEA is a major plus.
Contract duration of more than 6 months. with 40 hours per week.
