    Stantec is looking for the newest members of our environmental services team in Fredericton, New Brunswick to specifically support environmental impact assessment and permitting opportunities, and related environmental research and writing.

    In this role, you will work as part of our environmental services team in the development and delivery of environmental studies for a variety of resource, infrastructure and development projects in our local community and across the country.

    You will be part of a team that includes national experts who will mentor you closely as you grow your skills and career while working on a diverse collection of environmental management projects.

    Collaborate with and assist project managers and team members including fish, marine, terrestrial, and wildlife biologists, archaeologists, water experts, and engineers
    Lead and/or assist in the development of environmental management programs such as environmental impact assessments, environmental protection plans, and environmental permits
    Analyze field and technical data, and draft technical reports
    Follow established standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines to complete assignments
    Conduct desktop project-related research (e.g., historic data, regulations, literature reviews)
    Complete applicable company and client required health & safety training and follow health &safety policies and procedures
    Participate in environmental field work such as water sampling, biological field studies, and archaeology
    Project management support tasks such as cost estimates, budget tracking and status reports
    Attend client and regulatory meetings
    Candidates may also be requested to support other service areas depending on their interests and abilities (e.g. aquatics, remediation, air quality)
    Comfortable working on multiple projects concurrently, sometimes reporting to different individuals
    Strong verbal and written communication skills, including strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Powerpoint), and technical writing skills
    Knowledge of relevant local provincial and federal environmental legislation and policies is an asset
    Knowledge of general construction practices and environmental mitigation measures is an asset
    Experience in the collection of biological and physical field data is an asset
    Experience in conducting environmental baseline programs and environmental impact assessments is an asset
    Socio-economic experience would be an asset
    Good driving record and valid driver's license required
    Minimum Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Engineering, Science, Forestry, or related field. Master's degree an asset.
    Minimum of 1-5 years' work experience. However, individuals with 1 year or less of work experience or equivalent (e.g. work co-ops, travel or other experience) should not be discouraged from applying.
