AbleLiving Services is part of the Thrive Group. We are a not-for-profit organization that provides services that are funded through the Local Health Integration Network of Hamilton, Norfolk, Haldimand, Brant (HNHB LHIN). Ableliving opened its doors in 1978 with the first project being our Binbrook location. We continue to build the organization and provide exceptional services with the support from the HNHB LHIN. Our Binbrook location provides supports for individuals with disabilities, seniors, as well as those with long term chronic ventilation support needs.

Key Duties include:


Under the direction of the Coordinator, this position is responsible for providing housekeeping and laundry duties to maintain a clean, tidy, safe, and aesthetically pleasing environment for clients, staff, family, members and anyone visiting the facility.

This position is responsible for utilizing appropriate equipment and chemicals to ensure effective infection prevention and control.


Requirements:


  • A High School Diploma and experience in the provision of housekeeping services to people with disabilities (developmental, ventilator supported and transitional).
  • Ability to empathize with people with physical and emotional needs is essential.
  • Knowledge of basic math and ability to do calculations and quantity measurements are required.
  • Must be able to plan and organize work and perform tasks according to priority. Ability to make solid decisions and problemsolve effectively are also essential.
  • Good oral and written communication skills, with a competent level of English are requirements.
  • Must demonstrate high commitment to providing exceptional customer service and be reliable, punctual, and capable of managing time effectively.
  • Ability to develop supportive relationships and work collaboratively with clients, family members, and colleagues.
  • Must be able to take direction and work independently as well as part of a team.
  • A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check or Criminal Reference Check is required.
  • A valid driving license and reliable transportation may be a requirement for this position.
