Description
Reporting to the the Quality Assurance Manager, the QA Assistant will assume the following responsibilities:

  • Performing daily monitoring and verification tasks as outlined in HACCP and GMPs.
  • Conducting environmental monitoring and product lab samples for testing
  • Inspecting product on arrival, in inventory and prior to shipping
  • Preparing QA inspection reports and recommendations
  • Verifying weight, temperature, size, package and pallet integrity of product
  • Reporting food safety and quality problems to the Quality Assurance/Plant Manager
  • Participating and assisting Quality Assurance Manager when needed
  • Completing special projects and other duties as assigned by management
  • Reporting noncompliances and make thorough decisions on corrective actions
  • Other duties as required

Experience/Qualifications:


  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience in the food processing industry
  • Knowledge of Food Safety and Quality Assurance practices
  • Excellent knowledge of regulatory and quality system requirements
  • HACCP, Good Manufacturing Process (GMP), and GFSI
  • Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Ability to work flexible hours, to work alone or with a mínimal supervision
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure, challenging environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrate analytical, problem solving and time management skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and part of a collaborative team

Pay:
$24.00-$27.00 per hour
