Fundraising & Fund Development Specialist role in our dynamic team.

The Fundraising and Fund Development Specialist (FFDS) is responsible to further the work of the Epic Opportunities Foundation.

The three main objectives of the Epic Opportunities Foundation are:


  • To provide funding for capital expenditures such as longterm, communitybased housing for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • To provide funding for special projects or initiatives that might not otherwise be available for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • To raise the profile of Epic Opportunities and its work in the community

We will count on you to:

  • Build and communicate a vision to raise the profile of Epic Opportunities and the Epic Opportunities Foundation.
  • Through strategic planning, identify funding needs to address gaps in service delivery and areas for service development which meet short and longterm organizational goals and the needs of people supported.
  • Promote the concept of Inclusion, full community participation, engagement with natural support networks and relationship building.
  • Develop and maintain systems and procedures to enhance donor tracking, recognition and reporting.
  • Oversee budget development for all fundraising events or initiatives.

What will you bring to the role?

  • Highly effective communication skills; both oral and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate and inspire a vision for community living and engage donors to support this vision.
  • Be resourceful, use multitasking, be creative and imaginative, with the ability to problemsolve, navigate relationships with professionalism and demonstrate an understanding of others' needs.
  • Infectious enthusiasm and passion to engage all stakeholders in the process of building inclusive communities and supporting the financial needs of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to market and promote the values and work in support of persons living with intellectual or developmental disabilities.

Qualifications and experience we are looking for:

  • Degree in Public Relations, Communications or Social Sciences is preferred
  • other education combined with experience will also be considered.
  • Four years' experience in fundraising, event planning and donor relations required.
  • Experience in grant writing and proposal development will be integral to the success of this role.


The successful applicant will be asked to provide a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and both a Child and Adult Abuse Registry check upon hire at their own expense.

Salary:
$29.87 -$ 37.80 hourly ( currently under wage review).
