Purpose


Contributes to the overall success of Asset Services - Corporate Action Notification team in Toronto, Canada for Global Wholesale Operations ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives.

The assistant manager of Asset Services - Corporate Action Notification is responsible for the day-to-day creation and review of new Corporate Action announcement for publishing to advisors and clients and ensure the securities impacted are appropriately identified in the book of record systems.

Ensures all activities conducted follow governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.


Accountabilities

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Responsible for conducting daytoday operations and workflows within the Notifications team by ensuring department procedures in retrieving corporate action events and disseminating the information to the field are adhered to.
  • Responsible for review of depositories (Domestic and International) bulletins and second sourcing the announcement
  • Diarize events to track expiries for processing team
  • Draft internal bulletin for review
  • Review bulletins (created by other team members) for accuracy and grammatical errors and approval of the Corporate Action Notifications and other output of staff to ensure accuracy.
  • Publish bulletins to internal repository for distribution
  • Advise processing team of short expiry bulletins
  • Provides bulletin production stats daily through KPI reporting.
  • Daily reconciliation of published bulletins versus diarized events to ensure all bulletins that require publishing have been published
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in daytoday activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of daytoday business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook, and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

  • Post-Secondary degree or diploma
  • Subject matter expert on reviewing corporate action notifications.
  • Track record of strong reconciliation and analytical skills.
  • Assist with managing team workflows
  • Excellent time management and teamwork skills are essential in accomplishing many tasks.
  • Ability to organize and analyze data and problem solve with a high dree of accuracy.
  • Ability to respond effectively to fluctuating volumes within constrained time frames and stressful situations
  • Strong problemsolving skills, communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Operational reconciliation skills.
  • Strong Excel Skills (Must be comfortable with pivot tables and V Lookups)

Nice to Have Skills

  • Broadridge BPS experienced user is an asset
  • Experience with depositories and foreign custodian Corporate Action processes and procedure (CDS,DTC BNP, HSBC, Clearstream, Euroclear)
  • Familiar with Swift Corporate Action messaging.
  • Understanding of Tax regarding Corporate Actions events (Section 302. Etc).
