The Business analyst, under management direction, is responsible for the resolution of complex business problems for the assigned Lines of Business.

This includes managing multiple small projects, participating in and/or managing specific sections of large projects, and providing ongoing support to all assigned units worldwide.


Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives based on both users' needs and a good understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements for the assigned Lines of Business.

Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex. Includes analyzing business and user needs, documenting requirements and translating them into proper systems requirement specifications.


Role and Responsibilities
To ensure the business needs and outcomes of the project are defined, satisfied and costs identified. And includes responsibility of leading provide coaching to colleagues on deliverables on projects.


This position requires knowledge of project management tools and methods, understanding of client's life cycle development methodologies and knowledge of client business management.

The The business analyst will demonstrate skills in relationship building and is able to coordinate work among other business analysts and delivery teams.


Specific Area of Business Analysis:

Business analyst for the Collateral Management Technology (CMFT) IT group in support of the Collateral Management & Funding businesses.


Products/Functions:

Collateral Management, Securities Finance, Repo, Tri-party Pledge, Inventory Management, Treasury, Funding, Rehypothecation, Regulatory reporting
Securities Borrowing & Lending, Equity and/or Fixed Income Settlements (CSD, DTCC, International)


Accountabilities

  • The business analyst's primary objective is helping businesses implement technology solutions by determining the requirements of a project or program and communicating them clearly to stakeholders and management.
  • Participate in the systems implementation process by defining business requirements and processes, developing test strategies and test cases, performing testing, defining user procedures and workflows, developing conversion and implementation strategies, verifying conversion, providing user documentation, providing user training, and providing postimplementation support.
  • Provide business support to all units Globally, including new and existing product and deal structuring, ad hoc queries and MIS, user training, and assisting with the design and implementation of systems enhancements. This is made more challenging due to differences in time zones and the variation in the business lines. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that management is kept informed, and that problems and issues are escalated appropriately.
  • Administer organize duties and coordinate for CMFT teams needs as directed by senior management staff.
  • Develop templates/ processes to address and standardize gaps when receiving requirement from various Prime Services teams.
  • Continually acquire and enhance knowledge of the Division's business strategies and policies, risk management practices and methodologies, product offerings, financial markets, financial instruments, regulatory requirements, Back Office processes, and rapidly changing technology to be able to provide effective business solutions and services to the end user business lines.
  • Develop/maintain/grow relationships with various stakeholder teams: operations, finance, project control, contract management, invoice team, account payable, audit internal (GWRT, TPRM), audit external and other key stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance where needed to team members on the core values and business standards.

Education/Work Experience/Designations

  • The incumbent must have knowledge of financial instruments, including market conventions and valuation methods, risk management methodologies and models including best practices, current and anticipated regulatory requirements, Back Office processes and the endtoend workflows among the Front, Middle and Back Offices within at least one financial market area (Specific Areas of Business Analysis preferred refer to above highlight).
  • The incumbent must have proven interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills to build consensus and obtain cooperation from both users and senior management. These skills, along with the incumbent's good time management and organizational skills, will allow the incumbent to effectively manage small projects while planning and scheduling resources within those projects to optimize productivity.
