Line Cook - Japanese-Inspired Snack Bar

Role and Responsibilities:

Food Preparation:
Prepare a variety of Japanese-inspired snacks, small plates, and street food items as per the menu specifications.

Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly portioned, and ready for cooking.

Follow recipes and guidelines provided by the Sous Chef and Head Chef to maintain consistency and quality.


Cooking and Plating:
Execute cooking techniques with precision and finesse to deliver visually appealing and delicious dishes.

Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely and efficient food service during busy hours.

Plate dishes creatively, paying attention to presentation and attention to detail.


Station Organization:
Maintain a clean and organized workstation, following the kitchen's hygiene and sanitation standards.

Restock ingredients and supplies as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

Assist with inventory management to keep track of stock levels and report any shortages to the Sous Chef.


Quality Control:
Take pride in the presentation and taste of each dish, ensuring that it meets our high-quality standards.

Monitor cooking times and temperatures to deliver perfectly cooked items consistently.

Collaborate with the kitchen team to address any food quality issues promptly.


Collaboration:
Work closely with the Sous Chef and Head Chef to coordinate food preparation and overall kitchen operations.

Communicate effectively with fellow line cooks and other team members to ensure a smooth workflow.


Health and Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Handle and store all food products properly to prevent contamination and ensure the safety of our customers.


Requirements:

Proven experience as a Line Cook or relevant culinary role, preferably in a Japanese restaurant or similar establishment.

Solid understanding of Japanese cuisine, cooking techniques, and flavor profiles.

Creativity and passion for experimenting with ingredients to craft new and enticing snacks.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality dishes.

Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Food Handler's Certification or willingness to obtain one.

Salary:
$18.00-$22.00 per hour

  • Secondary School (preferred)

Experience:


  • Cooking: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Food Handler Certification (preferred)
