The successful applicant will also possess effective communication and interpersonal skills, will have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and will have strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Qualifications:

Successful completion of a Post Secondary Program preferred
Graduate of Health Sciences Program preferred

Skill, Ability and Experience:

Basic proficiency in the use of computers required
Physical ability to meet the demands of the position required
Knowledge of proper lifting techniques required
Experience with ORMED software preferred
Hospital supply inventory experience preferred
Warehousing experience preferred
Shipping and Receiving experience preferred
Experience using a handheld bar code scanner preferred
Recent experience in a related position requiring adherence to strict timelines, meeting conflicting demands and differentiating between large numbers of products preferred

Principal Duties:

Stores and issues materials, supplies, equipment, and linen; takes inventories; recommends modification to quotas; compiles stock records
Unpacks or uncrates items received
Inspects items for damage or defects
Verifies accuracy of shipments by counting, weighing, or measuring items and comparing size, weight, description, code numbers to invoice or packing slip and purchase order
Records or reports discrepancies or damage in shipment and signs bills of lading
Carries or conveys by hand truck
Periodically takes physical count of stock on hand and verifies count with inventory controls totals
Uses computerized inventory system
Receives requests for supplies, selects stock inventory, distributes supplies to designated areas
Delivers Linens to user departments according to preestablished par levels and schedules
Uses handheld scanner to order and track supplies
Communicates regularly with PROcure
Followup on backordered items
Other related duties as assigned
