Supply Chain Coordinator - Coquitlam, Canada - Western Canada Marine Response Corporation

WCMRC is hiring twoFull-Time Supply Chain Coordinators for our locations in
Coquitlam and Nanaimo, B.C.
The primary responsibilities of this position include:
- Source, negotiate, and procure supplies, equipment, and services required for WCMRC steady-state and oil spill response operations.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and service providers to ensure competitive pricing, reliability, and compliance with contractual terms.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders, review purchase requisitions, and track procurement activities to maintain accurate records and inventory levels.
- Oversee inventory control procedures, including stock monitoring, replenishment, and cycle counting, to maintain adequate levels of response equipment and materials.
- Utilize inventory management systems to track inventory movements, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions to minimize stockouts and excess inventory.
- Manage and optimize inventory levels for prompt response support, understanding the impact of inventory changes on response timelines.
- Conduct regular assessments, anticipate shortages, and collaborate on contingency plans to ensure a resilient and effective supply chain for response activities.
- Support with inventory auditing, reconcile discrepancies, and implement inventory control measures to minimize stockouts and excess inventory.
- Coordinate transportation logistics for efficient movement of supplies and equipment throughout the coast of British Columbia.
- Facilitate crossborder logistics and customs clearance processes for international procurement and shipments, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and documentation.
- Manage the disposal of surplus assets, obsolete equipment, and hazardous materials in accordance with environmental regulations and company policies.
- Coordinate asset disposal activities, including asset evaluation, recycling, resale, and documentation of disposal transactions.
