What is a wood processing specialist?:

Participating in the success of the forestry team, you will participate in all stages leading to the realization of the project, namely the identification of the client's needs, the analysis of the project's feasibility, the configuration of the optimization systems, monitoring of the tests carried out on the systems before their shipment, installation of optimization systems in customer factories, training, as well as customer follow-up.


More specifically, your mission will be to:

  • Carry out periodically the installation of optimization systems in sawmills and planer mills
  • Analyzes, configure and test Autolog system
  • Evaluate the efficiency and the payback of Autolog systems
  • Realize the acceptance tests of the systems
  • Offer technical expertise to customers and assist our sale representatives on a regular base
  • Support customers' service during regular hours
  • Provide periodically 24 hours customer's service
  • Train customers on the new system
  • Create or complete system documentation
  • Perform any other related duties

In order to be convinced of your ease in these functions, you should:

  • Hold a bachelor's degree in wood engineering combined with at least 1 year of experience in a sawmill OR have a DEC in wood processing combined with at least 2 years of experience OR have held a position as Controller of the quality in a sawmill / planing mill of at least 3 years
  • Good understanding of the wood products processing steps
  • Excellent understanding of the standard grading rules for lumber
  • Able to read electric drawings (asset)
  • Knowledge of C++ programming language (asset)
