- Provide Level 2 support for IP backhaul network issues, including routers, switches, and microwave/IP transport systems.
- Diagnose and resolve complex network faults related to IP/MPLS, Ethernet, and QoS configurations.
- Analyze packet flows and perform root cause analysis using tools like Wireshark, SNMP, and NetFlow.
- Monitor network performance and proactively identify potential bottlenecks or failures.
- Implement configuration changes and software upgrades to maintain network stability.
- Ensure compliance with SLAs and KPIs for backhaul performance.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours support for critical network outages and page alerts
- Take ownership of critical customer issues, diagnose problems, perform root cause analysis, and manage cases through to resolution within agreed-upon service level agreements (SLAs).
- Work closely with NOC, field engineers, and vendor support teams to resolve escalated issues.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior support staff.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, resolutions, and network changes.
- Prepare technical reports and recommend improvements for network resilience.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Experience: 10+ years in IP networking and backhaul support within telecom environments.
- Strong knowledge of IP/MPLS, Ethernet, VLAN, QoS, and routing protocols (OSPF, BGP).
- Familiarity with microwave/IP transport technologies and synchronization (PTP, SyncE).
- Proficiency in network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
- Certifications: CCNP, CCIE, Nokia service routing certification SRC or equivalent preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills.
- Working with multi-vendor environments (Cisco, Juniper, Nokia).
- Experience in mobile backhaul for LTE/5G networks.
- Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
- Hands-on experience with carrier-grade routing and switching hardware (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Nokia).
