Financial Controller

Gas Plus is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as Financial Controller.

This position will be a shared position of 20 hours per week. This is a key management role in managing all aspects of the company's financial requirements. The position will offer greater opportunity towards financial compensation based on other factors.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Accurate and detailed data entry with prompt completion daily of all accounting records.
• Manage the monthend and yearend closing processes, including journal entries and reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of internal balance and income statements.
• CRA tax filings
• Payroll
• Payables
• Receivables
• Draft Invoicing and collections
• Audit and preparing for year end tax file with our accounting firm.
• Field Communications and problem solving of incoming financial information.

Experiences and Qualifications:

• 8 plus years of experience in accounting software such as Simply accounting or other but preferably SAGE (MAS90) training to be provided.
• Advanced Microsoft excel skills and good understanding of accounting software knowledge is required.
• Secondary likewise education
• Proactive approach to problem solving and the ability to identify and resolve financial issues effectively.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate and reliable reconciliations as it relates to financial statements.
