Summary

Main responsibilities

  • Underwrite and handle renewals within the guidelines of the various programs and contracts
  • Develop, underwrite and handle new business within the guidelines of the various programs and contracts or as a wholesaler
  • Develop business relationships with existing and new brokers through marketing visits
  • Act as a liaison between brokers and insurers to negotiate and determine insurance terms
  • Represent the company at industry events as required

Profile

  • Minimum of 5 years underwriting experience
  • Advanced level of English, French an asset
  • Have a CIP designation or an insurance diploma, or be in the process of obtaining one (asset)
  • Comfortable with various software and technological tools
  • Negotiation skills
  • Demonstrate autonomy and resourcefulness
  • Have a good sense of responsibility and priorities
  • Good analytical skills and ability to make decisions under pressure
  • Entrepreneurial attitude and willingness to go the extra mile
