The Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) works at the centre of the province's power system, ensuring Ontarians have access to reliable and cost-effective electricity when and where they need it.

We operate the province's electricity grid 24/7, design, run and oversee the wholesale electricity markets, and plan and prepare to meet Ontario's electricity needs - now and into the future.


The Opportunity:


Under the direction of the Team Lead, Vendor and Contract Management, the Vendor and Contract Analyst supports all aspects of work related to the management of the company's procured goods and services contract and vendor management functions.

These services include managing the creation of vendors, review and release of purchase orders, management of contract management data and delivery of a number of compliance and governance reports.

You will also support the maintenance and development of the IESO Supplier Diversity Program and support the development of an organization wide vendor performance program.


What you'll do:


Vendor and Contract Management Activities:


  • Support the Team Lead in the development and maintenance of procedures, standards and guidelines, within the scope of the Vendor Contract Management processes and related procurement policies and any applicable government directives.
  • Contribute to and support the company's contract management and procurement strategies, policies and procedures. Identify efficiencies to continually improve contract management and upstream procurement processes for the company.
  • Advise business users on corporate vendor and contract management as well as procurement policies and procedures. Provide advice and guidance on purchasing and contract management and escalating to the Team Lead when needed.
  • Investigate and verify rationale for noncompetitive, single or sole source requests, advising on compliance with applicable standards and policies and other areas of risk to the organization.
  • Review and release all purchase requisitions, ensuring compliance with procurement activities, procurement policy and government directives. Review distributions of spend, signing authorities and accuracy of records.
  • Manage procurement and contract record retention, ensuring all files are compliant with retention and procurement policies.
  • Act as the initial point of contact for the resolution of purchase order issues with Accounts Payable and business units, escalating to the Team Lead, as necessary.
  • Support the creation of contract management files and manage data quality.
  • Support the drafting and execution of contract extensions and low complexity contract amendments.
  • Act as the initial point of contact for vendors and external parties, escalating to Procurement Specialists or the Team Lead as necessary.
  • Participate in annual and quarterly planning activities.
  • Support the Team Lead in development and maintenance of the Supplier Diversity Program.
  • Manage requests and support communication with diverse suppliers.
  • Support the Team Lead in delivering internal and external training and presentations on the Supplier Diversity Program.
  • Support the development, implementation and management of the vendor performance program.

Systems:


  • Manage the IESO's vendor database, including the creation of EFT records, maintaining address and contact information, liaising with vendors as necessary to ensure information is up to date and accurate. As necessary, liaise with legal services on the review of any changes to vendor information as a result of acquisitions and mergers.
  • Manage the IESO's Contract Management database including the creation and maintenance of contract files.
  • Manage bulk change requests for Purchase Requisition and Manage Service Provider systems.
