Position Summary
The Donor Experience Officer develops, implements, and refines stewardship and communication strategies to engage donors and communicate their impact on Island health care.
With excellent writing, meticulous tracking, passion and strategy, the Donor Experience Officer will ensure all QEH Foundation donors feel the gratitude of those who benefit from their kindness.

- Build on the strengths of existing programs and policies to broaden and implement a systematic and integrated donor recognition and stewardship matrix to guide your work
- Coordinate the Donor Recognition Committee of QEH Foundation Board of Directors
- Document, research, and produce customized stewardship reports to demonstrate the impact of donor support and the fulfillment of sponsorship agreements
- Manage special letters and correspondence with our US Foundation: US Friends of Queen Elizabeth Hospital
- Contribute to strategic plan initiatives to strengthen donor engagement
- Contribute to the development of newsletters, targeting compelling communication and content strategically for unique stakeholder groups
- Identify donor needs and interests and translate them into content to be used in multiple platforms such as web, social media, videos, etc.
- Write thoughtfully crafted letters to accompany donation receipts, letting our donors know what their donation will support. Keep the letters current with latest equipment needs.
- Coordinate and support the creation and distribution of donation acknowledgement programs and recognition of special events including receipting, thank you letters, and thank you notes, cards, calls, and other relevant stewardship communications
- Staying current on local news and keeping track of important donor information to be tracked and celebrated
- Develop and coordinate stewardship and sponsorship management strategies
- Ensure donations are properly acknowledged, following our donor recognition policy
- Plan and execute a donor recognition event each fall for donors advancing on the donor recognition wall
- Coordinate the creation and delivery of donor recognition certificates
- Coordinate special events for donors across programs
- Manage the QEH Foundation Donor Recognition Wall. This includes tracking, correspondence, ordering of panels, and considering plans for expansion.
- Reviews information tracking processes regarding acknowledgement, recognition, ongoing communications to ensure Raiser's Edge donor database is accurately updated donors
Desired Skills and Knowledge
- Relevant degree, diploma, or work experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience working in fundraising and/or communications
- Ability to create and execute a comprehensive donor stewardship and recognition plan, including advising on best practices in the charitable sector
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Detail oriented with a high level of initiative and energy
- Valid driver's license
- Experience using a donor database or similar software will be considered an asset, especially Blackbaud software
- Experience with Canva or similar design tools
- Passion for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation's mission

Pension:
All permanent full-time and part-time employees will contribute to the Employer's pension plan - Civil Service Superannuation Fund (CSSF).

Employees are granted 15 days per year vacation time until five years of service.
As with all employees of the QEH Foundation, a criminal records check is required and there is a six-month probationary period.
