SUMMER LEARNING PROGRAM COORDINATOR
At Lakehead Public Schools, we promote and support equity of opportunities and outcomes for

goal of ensuring the success of every student through our Board strategic plan, this role will This

role will include working in and with multiple sites, organizing the summer learning programs for

students in Kindergarten to Grade 7.


1. General Information
The following position will commence in early May with the planning and preparation

stage and continue through to the middle of July upon completion of the summer

programs. Total of 250 workable hours.


2. Position

2.1 Qualifications

The successful applicant must possess:

  • Secondary School Diploma
  • Completion of 1 year in Bachelor of Education Program
  • Valid Driver's license
  • Current CBC/Vulnerable Sector Screen

2.2 Desirable Qualities/Skills

  • Experience and knowledge working within schools and with children and youth
(aged ***- Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Selfmotivated and strong initiative skills.**
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of people.**
  • Demonstrated leadership practices and experience.

2.3 Role Responsibilities

The Summer Learning Program Coordinator will:

  • Promote and maintain registration of students for each program.
  • Conduct site visits to ensure all sites are ready and set up prior to programs
beginning.

  • Engage with Program Principal, and individual School Administration to organize
supplies, spaces and resources for summer learning staff.

  • Communicates effectively with Program Principal regarding all aspects of the
Summer Programs.

  • Collaborate with outside partnerships to plan, organize and schedule all special
events for learning programs.

  • Supports the program while it is running to organize meals/snacks and supply of
resources.

  • Completes all closing tasks as building checks, equipment/resources return, etc.
  • Be able to work independently, tracking and documenting duties throughout the
weeks.

  • Other duties as assigned.

3. Application
