    Description
    The employee's responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to the following:

    • Designing and implementing strategic plans to reach sales targets
    • Developing and promoting weekly, monthly and quarterly sales objectives
    • Drafting detailed and accurate sales reports
    • Working with Sales team and Internal team to better service our customers
    • Establishing a sales training program to train new sales representatives
    • Meeting with other directors to ensure all departments are aligned with sales objectives
    • Regularly meet with sales team (interritory, by phone or by Zoom) to discuss sales strategies & improvements, gaining greater real estate with existing customers and opening new doors
    • Dealing with Special Customer Requirements to build sales, to include: rebate negotiations based on tiered annual volume, free freight, discounts, incentives, etc.
    • Resolving account disputes escalated from the Customer Service Manager
    • In territory travel with all reps initially (to understand territory/customer nuances & rep approach/challenges), and moving forward, with regions experiencing sales deficiencies
    • Travel to some or all of the following trade shows: Toronto Market Week; Atlanta Gifts & Home Furnishings Market (ATL Market), and other US Gift & Home Shows, as required; Paris Maison & Objet (to attend vendor strategic sales meetings, conduct supplier relations, attend vendor dinners & help source lines)
    • Hiring & firing of sales representatives & agencies
    • Territory divisionalization & sales team expansion
    • Establishing sales programs & incentives to promote increased revenues
    • Direct national/key accounts sales & administration and insupport of sales representative sold national/key accounts
    • Motivating, cultivating and incentivizing rep performance
    • Providing leadership to the field representatives, in establishing new market opportunities
    • Organize Bi-Annual National Sales Meetings/training through Zoom
    • Organizing provision of seasonal sales materials, catalogues & showroom samples for sales representatives with Sales Operations Coordinator or National Sales Manager
    • Create marketing campaigns with Director of Marketing & Merchandising
    • Report analysis (to determine territory productivity, etc.)
    • Software integration support (SalesForce, Brandwise) with Systems Manager
    CANDIDATE CRITERIA, KEY SKILLS & ASSETS REQUIRED

    • Understanding of fashion/market trends & styles, and how they relate within the gift industry
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
    • Entrepreneurial spirit and creative thinker with a dynamic personality, having a strong vision on how to meet core objectives
    • Strong engagement in company objectives
    • Strong technical/computer skills (with ability to extract reports from company's ERP) and advanced understanding of MS Office applications
    • Analytical skills
    • Ability to motivate interpersonal skills
    • Understanding of overall industry dynamics amongst key manufacturers, distributors, agencies and reps, within Canada and the US
    • Have a network of reps (and other industry contacts) to help facilitate hiring of strong rep candidates, across Canada
    • Lives in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), has the ability to travel daily to office in the GTA, if required, or willing to relocate from other parts of Canada
