Waste Connections of Canada has an immediate opening for a Bilingual HR Coordinator to support our Human Resources Team at our Region Office in Vaughan Ontario.

The Bilingual Human Resources Coordinator supports projects and goals of the HR Department including the areas of learning, operations, analytics, compliance, benefits, and employee relations.


Job Summary:


  • Report to and work directly with the Human Resource Manager and support needs of HR Team
  • Assist with auditing and reporting
  • Serve as a point of contact for field support
  • Support internal and external inquiries regarding company policies, procedures, programs and other people matters
  • Assist the Human Resources team with activities during acquisitions
  • Provides administrative support to events and activities as requested (e.g. booking rooms for bargaining, catering coordination, creating learning packages for participants)
  • Carries out special projects as assigned and support HR team when time permits
  • Maintains strict confidentiality of all HR and employee related sensitive information
  • Support engagement platform and annual Servant Leadership Surveys
  • Performs related work as assigned

Requirements:


  • Bilingualism; French and English (written and spoken) is a requirement for this role as we operate across Canada
  • Working knowledge of the principles and practices of Human Resources Management
  • Excellent time management, planning and communication skills.
  • The ability to exercise initiative and work independently. We pride ourselves on being selfmotivated and selfdirected
  • Strong computer skills in Office, Excel, Word, MS365, Teams, Zoom etc.
  • Ability to juggle multiple deadlines and contact with internal customers in a poised and professional manner.
  • Ability to effectively present information in oneonone and small group situations
  • Ability to prioritize tasks from multiple stakeholder
  • 2+ years' experience supporting or involvement with HR related functions (e.g. payroll, recruiting, benefits; especially the Leave of Absence process)
  • College or University degree or related field experience preferred
  • Workday (or other similar HRIS) experience a plus
