Position Overview:

As Lead Carpenter, you will be an essential member of our talented team, responsible for executing a wide range of renovation projects.

From renovating kitchens and bathrooms to creating custom millwork and cabinetry, your expertise will contribute to turning our clients' visions into reality.

This role requires a keen eye for design, exceptional carpentry skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

You must be able to work independently on small projects while coordinating necessary subtrades and lead a team of people and subtrades on larger projects.


Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with clients, designers, and project managers to understand project requirements and specifications.
  • Execute renovation projects, including but not limited to framing, drywall installation, flooring, trim work, demo and cabinetry installation.
  • Utilize your carpentry skills to build custom furniture, shelves, cabinets, and other fixtures.
  • Ensure projects are completed within budget and schedule while maintaining the highest quality standards.
  • Conduct onsite assessments, measurements, and take necessary steps to ensure accurate material estimates.
  • Record daily logs and update our project management software tool.
  • Attend a daily huddle on Google Meet to identify three items, 1) what happened yesterday and update project schedule, 2) what's happening today and the coming days, 3) what resources or help is required to complete those upcoming tasks.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of hand and power tools safely.
  • Comply with all safety guidelines and regulations to ensure a secure working environment.

Requirements:


  • Proven experience as a carpenter, with a focus on renovation projects, particularly bathrooms and kitchens.
  • Red-Seal required.
  • Proficiency in various carpentry techniques, including framing, trim work, cabinetry installation, and custom woodworking.
  • A genuine love for construction and a thirst for learning about the latest in building science.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications.
  • Ability to interact and work with engineers, architects, designers and inspectors.
  • Ability to coordinate and schedule plumbers, electricians, tilers, countertop providers, glass fitters and painters.
  • Ability to install basic plumbing and electrical.
  • Tiling skills a plus.
  • Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
  • Outstanding time management and organizational abilities.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with team members and clients.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Possession of your own tool belt with standard tools and personal protective equipment (mask, steeltoed shoes/boots, gloves, eyeprotection, earprotection).
