LOCATION


Located approximately 100 kilometres east of Toronto, NHH is a vibrant community hospital delivering a broad range of acute, post-acute, outpatient and diagnostic services.

ROLE OVERVIEW
The Relief Clerk is primarily responsible for ambulance billing and provides vacation relief forFinance staff, where necessary.

  • Verifies ambulance bills for accuracy before being sent to patients.
  • Balances cash receipts and compiles bank deposits.
  • Receives patient payments, issues cash receipts and responds to patient inquiries.
  • Maintains parking cards, including the distribution of cards to patients and families.
  • Assist Finance staff in other duties as needed.

Applicants must be available to provide relief during vacation for Accounts Payable, In-patient and Out-patient Accounts Receivable staff, for specified functions.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent
  • Community College courses in accounting
  • Recent accounting experience in a computerized environment
  • Advanced skills Microsoft Office Suite of Products including EXCEL.
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Ability to protect confidential information.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
  • Courtesy and tact in dealing with people; ability to speak clearly and pleasantly in all situations.
  • Follows safe and healthy work practices and maintains a safe and healthy work environment through attendance at educational programs, use of established mechanisms for injuries and hazards and adherence to health and safety related policies and procedures.

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS


Successful applicants are required provide a satisfactory vulnerable sector criminal reference check, that was complete less than one year from the date of hire.

This requirement must be met within the first sixty (60) days of employment.


Additionally, to the above, successful applicants are also required to complete the Health Care Worker Health review process which includes providing an up-to-date immunization record to ensure compliance with the Ontario Hospital Association Communicable Diseases Surveillance Protocols within the first thirty (30) days of employment.

Northumberland Hills Hospital operates a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all staff.
