The Opportunity


General Bank of Canada is looking for a permanent, full time
Credit Analyst to join the organization as a key contributor with the Bank's Credit and Collections team.

Consistent with the growth trajectory of the Bank, this is an excellent opportunity for the right individual to contribute to building the bank of the future with considerable potential for learning, growth, and advancement.


  • This position is located in our Edmonton office._

Responsibilities

  • Build rapport with dealership Financial Services managers to strengthen and promote sound business relationships.
  • Evaluate clients' credit data and banking information in order to help determine the risk involved if providing a loan.
  • Responsible for reviewing and communicating decisions on loan and credit transactions in order to keep customers and team members up to date on vital information.
  • Assist other departments with programs, dealerships, or lending challenges, as well as credit related issues in order to help ensure that tasks are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure compliance with the Bank's lending policies and procedures by monitoring, reviewing, and approving loan and credit portfolios, as well as, providing risk advice and coaching to the sales team as required.
  • As the retail loan product expert for all aspects of indirect credit adjudication in order to help customers and other team members with concerns and inquiries.
  • Liaison timely and consistent communication on loan and credit information with dealerships by requesting client information or records as required.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Previous experience in a credit decisions role (indirect or direct) within the financial services or automotive industry.
  • Postsecondary education in a related field.
  • Attention to detail, strong analytical skills and a high level of accuracy when making decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to establish trusting relationships using written and verbal communication with vendors, clients, and team members.
  • Able to negotiate while portraying the General Bank customer service value.
  • An understanding of consumer credit fundamentals, scoring methodology, and risk management is considered an asset.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and Saturdays.

The salary range for this position is $55, 081 to $74,522 annually.
