Position Overview:


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Keep secure records of ingoing and outgoing inventory;
  • Pack and unpack materials;
  • Maintain quality control of goods by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments;
  • Supervise and manage warehouse workers to ensure goods are packed, labeled and stored properly;
  • Schedule shipments;
  • Prepare and/or sign off on shipping documents (i


e:

bills of lading, invoices, etc.);

  • Report any damaged products or equipment to superiors;
  • Ensure warehouse workers safely dispose of leftover packing materials or hazardous waste;
  • Signs off Final Check List that comes with Machines or Mold Blocks;
  • If the Check List, Job Cards or other related documentation is missing or if not completely signed off, notify the Department Supervisor immediately for corrective action;
  • Upon receipt of parts from production, checks the parts against the order for the correct number of pieces and items. If parts are missing, note it on the order and return it to the Department Supervisors;
  • Sprays all machine parts with anti rust product to cover entire machine, parts or exposed metal and must wait as least 30 minutes for rust protection to dry before package;
  • Itemizes contents of each box or skid, noting the weight and dimensions;
  • Determines if shipment is by land, sea or air and package accordingly (using visual aids). Always include rust preventative removal instructions;
  • Makes three (3) copies of weight sheet for shipping record:

  • The shipper will determine which method of packaging to be used for safety and to comply with cartage company requirements accordingly or using visual aids as sample;
  • The wood packaging is boxes or crates made with raw wood and plywood. The cutting/ sawing and manufacture/ assembly of the packaging is done in the shipping department. When the packaging is complete a certification stamp is applied to two opposite sides of the container;
  • The shipper is responsible for taking pictures of containers or boxes and machines before packaging, Mold Blocks and Dies before closing the boxes;
  • Ensures equipment is secured properly. The shipper contacts the Cartage Company and inform them of number of pieces, weight and dimensions;
  • If shipment is by a container, all necessary precautions must be taken to ensure equipment is secured properly;
  • Shipments by ocean container require HT wood, used as dunnage, for bracing inside the container. The lumber is stamped with a "D-HT" stamp twice on opposite sides when cut prior to fastening in position in the container. Ensure that one of the stamps is visible when the wood is in the container;
  • The shipper makes a note on the shipping record of the lot from which the wood packaging was received by recording the Corma Purchase Order #. This provides traceability back to the wood supplier's packing slip / invoice;
  • Seals container making sure the doors are closed securely;
  • Obtains driver's signature;
  • File
s signed copy of Inland Bill, Pick-Up Slips, and other paperwork in job file;

  • Returns all the Job Cards and Drawings to Production office and checks List to QC room;
  • Maintain a clean and wellkept stock room for prompt and courtliness service to all personnel;
  • Other duties as assigned and required and may include other departments;
  • Ensure safe work practices are adhered to and appropriate PPE is worn at all times;
  • Ensures all tools and equipment are operated with care;
  • Perform daily cleaning of your work area;
  • Must be a team player who is dependable and reliable.

Qualifications and skills:


  • Proven experience as shipping clerk or similar position;
  • Experience in operating forklifts;
  • Working knowledge of computer programs for entering data;
  • Solid understanding of health and safety regulations;
  • Basic math and recording abilities;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Great communication and interpersonal abilities;
  • Keen eye for detail;
  • Good physical condition;
  • 35 years of shipping and logistics experience;
  • Ability to use lifting devices and jib crane;
  • Ability to work under pressure, multitask, organize deadlines and priorities;
  • Excellent manual dexterity and handeye coordination with strong attention to detail;
  • Strong team player;
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision;
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs.
